Ktimene 070

Greensboro, North Carolina

Chartered February 12, 1938

Current officers are Su Peterson, Effie Varitimidis, Joy Dascalakis, and Maria Pradetto.

Ktimene #070 had a very busy 2022 and is coming back post-covid: holding meetings, easing into having fundraisers, and getting together for baking sessions.  Unfortunately, since 2018, five Sisters of Ktimene have passed away.  Memory Eternal.

Last year, Ktimene Sisters resumed their bi-annual filo sale.  Sisters solicit pre-orders from their local Orthodox parish and from others in the community.  Typically these filo sales are scheduled in April and November; and last year the chapter had relatively profitable success.

February 12, 2023 marks the date of Ktimene's annual bake sale--the first one since November 2019.  The Sisters have gathered a few times to bake the necessary pastries and are happy to be able to be together again.

Ktimene focuses its charitable giving on children, education, women, the elderly, and the hungry, plus more.  A few recipients of the chapter's donations are: Backpack Beginnings, Women's Resource Center, Guilford Education Alliance, Urban Ministry, Meals on Wheels Senior Resources, Leigh Ann Sims Ivey Peace College Scholarship, and their Greek orthodox Church, Dormition of the Theotokos.

Ktimene Sisters are positive about their chapter's future and are excited about returning to normal.
